Pantone announces honeysuckle as the color of 2011

Pantone Color BookLast year Pantone selected turquoise as the color for 2010 because it has a calming affect, and in the wake of a major recession this is just what the world needed.  This year they are looking towards a brighter year (literally) and have selected Honeysuckle as the color of 2011.  This vibrant color will be everywhere in the upcoming year.  According to Pantone Color Institute Executive Director, Leatrice Eiseman, “In times of stress, we need something to lift our spirits. Honeysuckle is a captivating, stimulating color that gets the adrenaline going – perfect to ward off the blues."

So what does this mean in regards to your custom label for your product?  Brighter is better!!!  When selecting colors for your product look for a honeysuckle hue to really convey that your product is bright, full of energy, or festive.  Best matches may include the (4 color process equivalent) of 205U or 212C.  There are several colors that will compliment these hues perfectly for your custom label.  Try a deep purple or a chocolate brown.  These will really make your product pop and give off a vivacious look.  This color is perfect for water bottle labels, food product labels, bath product labels and what better color for your special event favor labels.  Please let one of our experienced representatives help you with your next label project.  Whether you need the label designed and printed or just want us to print your high quality custom labels we have the solution!

Double Sided or Sandwiched Printed Labels

This is something we can offer to our customers and provides you with a label with printing on the face of the label as well as the back or the adhesive side of the label.  This type of printing works great for window decals, bath products, beverage products and many more applications.

We actually do this type of printing on a clear label stock.  We print the first to be seen on the back of the label as a mirror image then put an opaque white ink behind it then print on the face of the label.  This is just one of the amazing ways that the HP technology can be beneficial to customers on special applications.  This is all done in one pass on the printer and can be printed with the high end graphics and colors of the digital press.

If you have questions about a label project or would like more information about printing a double sided label or a sandwiched label please contact us today!

What are the differences between a varnish and laminate?

We have several customers call and ask us which finish would be best for their label application, so here are a few things you should think about when you are getting a quote for your custom label application.

  • Does your label need to be waterproof for a health and beauty product or beverage label?
    • If yes then along with one of our waterproof labels (clear or white Bopp) you should select a laminate, either a matte or gloss, which adds another layer of film on top of your label to add extra durability.
  • Is your product something that needs UV protection because it will be exposed to lot’s of light?
    • If yes then our uv varnishes are best for these applications.  Not only is our gloss uv varnish our least expensive, but it is also our most popular.  This is perfect for any food product label that will be displayed on a grocery shelf or in a bakery.
  • Do you need to use your thermal printer to print something specific on top of your preprinted labels or to even use a marker on top of the finish?
    • Then you will need to select one of two finishes, we offer both an imprintable gloss uv varnish and a polyester laminate with are both imprintable.
